Here we propose a perfect use-case for the BasdIP product. The system aims to manage simple and complex FM/AM repeater network by connecting them through IP (both on private and public network, like internet), transmitting in sync audio or MPX audio signal between different repeaters. Nothing prevents to use a hybrid approach with some repeater connected with a traditional analogic STL that starts from the headquarter and new installations or remote repeater not easily accessible with the BasdIP system on IP.
The system can work without too many limits even just with a LTE internet connection (in the repeater side), without using static public IPs or complex ad-hoc networks, choosing the different audio qualities (typically 320Kbit/s till 128Kbit/s stereo). It's possible to use an higher audio quality with a lossless format using more bandwidth (like 1.6Mbit/s for each repeater), in this case we recommend to use BasdIP system in MPX mode and not in pure audio.
BasdIP in addition to distribute audio and MPX in sync between repeaters allow to use GPIO IN/OUT
connections for
controls and serials to manage local RDS or other.
BasdIP client (in repeater side) is equipped with a failover and backup systems that in case of
missing connection
with the headquarter can receive an externel internet streaming or use a playlist with audio media
saved in a USB drive
(with content remotely synced).
BasdIP can be used as an advanced advertisement split system (customizable) to broadcast different
contents on each
repeater at specific times, interfaced with existing automation system.
